Officially today is the first day of the 2016 MLB Off-season. Here is a calendar of the important deadlines:
November 6 (5PM EDT) : Deadline to extend qualifying offers to free agent
November 7: Free Agents are eligible to sign with any team.
November 9-12: General Manager's meetings in F
November 13 (5PM EDT): Deadline for Free Agents to accept or reject qualifying offers
November 9-12: GM Meetings in Boca Raton, FL
December 2: Deadline for tendering contracts to arbitration-eligible players.
December 7-10: Winter Meetings in Nashville., TN; including Rule 5 draft
January 12: Salary arbitration filing
January 15: Salary arbitration figures exchanged
February 1-21: Salary arbitration hearings
February 18: Voluntary Spring Training reporting date for pitchers, catchers and injured players
February 23: Voluntary Spring Training reporting date for other team's other players
March 1: Mandatory Spring Training reporting date
April 3: Opening Day
